Maegma Steel HRC Sdn Bhd plans to commission integrated steel mill by 2015

Maegma Steel HRC Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Melewar Industrial Group (MIG) is going to complete the setup of an integrated steel mill in Lumut, Malaysia, after it signed a gas sale agreement with the state-owned gas company Petronas on June 25th.
Uwe Ahrens, the CEO of Maegma Steel HRC Sdn Bhd said that the firm will start the project after receiving all the relevant approvals and licenses from the government.
The firm planned to start the construction of the plant by next July and to commission it by June, 2015.
It’s known that Maegma Steel HRC Sdn Bhd poured US$1.407 billion in this integrated steel mill project and the designed annual production of hot rolled coil is at 3 million tons.
