Quintain Steel cuts wire rod prices for July

Quintain Steel, one of the major wire rod producers in Taiwan decided to cut its July list prices on June 26th.
Affected by the price dip made by China Steel Corp. (CSC), the largest steelmaker in Taiwan, Quintain Steel also decided to decrease its carbon steel wire rod prices by NT$500~NT$1,000/ton for July.
After the price announcement, the company’s July list prices of Al-killed wire rod are at NT$25,500/ton; that of rimmed wire rod is at NT$25,000/ton and that of killed wire rod is at NT$24,000/ton.
Industry sources indicated that Quintain Steel’s price cut policy for July delivery met the market participants’ forecasts.
Meanwhile, Yieh Hsing, another major wire rod maker in Taiwan will announce the new prices on June 29th and it is very possible that the firm will also cut the prices by NT$500~NT$1,000/ton for July.
