Taiwan’s May stainless steel scrap imports rise by 4% m-o-m

According to statistics released by Taiwan’s customs, the country imported 26,158 tons of stainless steel scraps in May, rising by 4% from a month earlier.
In May, the average import prices of stainless steel scraps were at NT$59,574/ton, increasing by NT$160/ton in comparison of NT$59,414/ton in a month ago.
In the first five months of this year, Taiwan’s imports of stainless steel scraps totaled 138,000 tons.
In the given period of time, the US was the largest exporter of stainless steel scraps with 9,647 tons with average prices of NT$62,947/ton; the Netherlands was the second largest one with 2,892 tons with average prices of NT$60,028/ton and Vietnam was the third largest one with 2,407 tons with average prices of NT$56,792/ton.
