EU’s steel product imports decline by 4.5% m-o-m in April
|
According to data reported by the European Steel Association (EUROFER), the EU-27 countries imported 1.22 million tons of steel products in April, decreasing by 4.53% from a month earlier and falling by 37.17% year on year.
Among them, 951,000 tons were steel flat products, down by 7.58% month on month and dropping by 42.11% year on year; 269,000 tons were steel long products, rising by 8.03% from a month earlier while reducing by 10.33% year on year.
In the first four months of this year, the EU-27 countries imported 4.75 million tons of steel products, falling by 35.02% year on year. Among them, 3.737 million tons were steel flat products, dipping by 39.53%; 1.012 million tons were steel long products, reducing by 10.52%, both compared to that in the same period of a year earlier.
In April alone, the EU-27 countries exported 2.005 million tons of steel products, decreasing by 15.61% from a month earlier while increasing by 0.9% year on year. Among them, 1.168 million tons were steel flat products, down by 12.31% month on month while rising by 11.77% year on year; 837,000 tons were steel long products, reducing by 19.82% from a month earlier and decreasing by 11.14% year on year
In the first months of this year, the EU-27 countries exported 8.409 million tons of steel products, increasing by 5.3% year on year, including 4.936 million tons of steel flat products and 3.473 tons of steel long products, rising by 5.3% and 2.53% year on year respectively.
