Brazilian slab export prices approache bottom
|
It's reported that due to CIS slab prices decline and weak demand in Asia, Brazilian slab producers have to lower export price of July delivery by about US$45/ton.
Currently, Brazilian slab offer to Asia is about US$540/ton FOB, and that to Latin America drops to US$550~US$560/ton FOB from May's dealing level of US$588~US$595/ton FOB.
Traders said the current prices already approached Brazilian mill's production cost, and not much room for further decline.
Brazilian slab exports rose by 18.6% to 487,000 tons in May.
