Taiwanese steel pipe market in price war
|
It’s reported that though the Taiwanese steel pipe makers announced to remain the prices unchanged for this month, most of them offered a discounts of NT$300~NT$500/ton to gain orders.
However, dealers said that their received order volumes did not rise substantially in spite of a discount of NT$300~NT$500/ton as the buyers have become more cautious of purchasing due to falling raw material prices.
Chung Hung Steel, one of the major upstream raw material suppliers for the steel pipe makers in Taiwan is going to release its price policy for July in next week and it’s predicted that the firm would cut the prices in response to the current market situation.
Industry sources said that the steel pipe producers in Taiwan may cut the prices further if Chung Hung Steel reduces list prices for July
