Iran aims to become world's second largest gas producer

According to Mr Mostafa Kashkooli, the Deputy MD of the National Iranian Gas Company, Iran is confident to become the second largest gas producer in the world after Russia in the short future.
Mr. Kashkooli added that the country planned to increase its share in world’s gas trades to 10% by the end of 2025.
The policy is to expand gas trades with Iran's neighbor countries which also are believed to benefit from gas trades.
Iran is currently ranking the fourth among the countries which have natural gas production. Record shows that it has pumped 138.5 billion cubic meters as of 2010.
