Russia’s exports of ferrous metals rise by 17.8% in first four months

According to data released by the State Statistics Committee of Russia (Russtat), Russia exported 12.90 million tons of ferrous metals in the first four months of this year4, rising by 17.8% year on year.
In the given period of time, the country’s export values generated by ferrous metals amounted to US$7.7 billion.
At the same time, Russia’s imports of ferrous metals totaled 1.8 million tons in the first four months of this year, increasing by 20.5% in comparison of that in the same period of a year earlier. The import values were at US$1.8 billion.
