Japan’s domestic order volumes of steel products slide by 2% m-o-m in April

According to data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan’s domestic order volumes of steel products including special steel totaled 7.7 million tons in April, down by 2% from a month earlier while rising by 9% year on year.
In April, the order volumes of common steel products from the Japanese domestic construction industry totaled 955,714 tons, decreasing by 10%; that from automobile industry was at 1.06 million tons, falling by 4%; that from shipbuilding industry was at 383,488 tons, rising by 6%, all compared to that in a month earlier.
