Vale’s Q1 nickel output falls by 24.7% y-o-y
|
Reportedly, mining giant Vale’s nickel output totaled 12,000 tons in the first quarter of this year, falling by 24.7% from 17,000 tons in the same period of a year earlier.
In the given period of time, the firm’s nickel sales volumes also decreased by 21.4% year on year to 13,000 tons.
According to the general manager of Vale, its production will rise after its broken smelting facility resumes in the second quarter of this year. However, the firm still faces difficulty to reach the annual production target of 73,000 tons.
