South Korea’s HR steel output rises by 6.8% y-o-y in May
|
According to statistics, the hot rolled (HR) steel output produced by South Korean steel mills totaled 1.418 million tons in May, rising by 6.8% year on year.
In May, the country’s sales volumes of HR steel products totaled 1.363 million tons, up by 6.7% year on year.
In the first five months of this year, the country’s HR steel output and sales volumes amounted to 6.39 million tons and 6.772 million tons, increasing by 6.7% and 1.7% year on year respectively.
Due to increased steel production and weak domestic demand, it’s said that the South Korean steel producers have offered the cheap HR steel products to Taiwan.
