China’s May steel exports hit 23-month high
|
According to statistics, China exported 5.23 million tons of steel products in May, reaching the 23-month high and rising by 9.87% year on year.
It’s analyzed that the surged steel exports were boosted by the sharply appreciated US dollar and weak domestic market.
The Chinese steelmakers have aimed on export markets as the domestic market has remained sluggish. The average steel prices have continued falling in Chinese domestic market in May.
