Malaysia’s Yung Kong aims exports at ASEAN market

Malaysia’s Yung Kong Galvanized Industries Bhd (YKGI) plans to export 30% of its pre-painted galvanized steel sheets (PPGI) to ASEAN market by 2015.
Datuk Soh Thian Lai, the managing director of YKGI said to press that the firm was looking to export 10% of PPGI to ASEAN market by next year and to reach 30% within 3 years.
The firm’s current focus is local market, due to the unstable global economy.
The company’s strategy is to set up joint venture with potential partners within the region in next year, maybe in Indonesia or Thailand, just after the completion of its new production line in Klang Q3 this year.
With the new line, the company is able to output 100,000 tons per year more, increasing its capacity by 50%.
