ArcelorMittal to build iron ore mine in Canada
|
The world’s top steelmaker ArcelorMittal said recently that it would receive the approval to construct a new iron ore mine close to the Arctic, helping it increase its self-sufficiency on raw material.
The project in question also includes a port and railway line, which is totally expected to cost CAD4 billion to CAD5 billion and take five years for construction.
The port would be able to handle 30 million ton per year of iron ore, which will be mainly targeted to European markets including external customers.
