Iron ore shipments from Port Hedland increase by 17% m-o-m in May

According to the data released by Port authority on Thursday, Iron ore shipments from Australia’s Port Hedland increased by 17% month on month in May.
Although China’s demand for iron ore turned slow on lower domestic growth, the steelmakers may still purchase to raise the inventories.
Shipments to China rose to 17.42 million tons in May from 14.84 million tons in April. And total iron shipments were 22.5 million tons in May, compared to 20.7 million tons in April. Shipments to Japan slightly declined from 2.75 million tons in April to 2.73 million tons in April.
