South Korea’s imports of deformed steel bar from China reduce obviously in May

According to statistics released by the Korea Iron and Steel Association (KOSA), South Korea imported 37,512 tons of deformed steel bar in May, falling by 17% from a month earlier.
Among them, 12,778 tons were from China, slumping by 48% and 24,710 tons were from Japan, reducing by 20%, both compared to that in a month earlier.
In May, the country’s average import prices of deformed steel bar were at US$679/ton, increasing by US$34/ton from a month ago.
The average imports prices of deformed steel bar supplied by Chinese steelmaker were at US$651/ton, rising by US$21/ton and that originated from Japan was at US$693/ton, increasing by US$31/ton, both compared to that in the previous month.
