Coal prices fall in Chinese domestic market
|
Reportedly, the coal prices have continued falling in Chinese domestic market due to high import volumes and surged domestic outputs.
The average prices of 5500 coal shipped from the ports in Chinese Bohai Sea region were at US$774/ton in the week from May 23rd through May 29th, decreasing by US$7/ton from a week earlier, falling for consecutive four weeks.
It’s analyzed that China’s increased coal imports would impact the domestic market in the near future.
According to statistics, China imported 2,505 tons of coals in April, soaring significantly by 90.1% year on year. In the first four months of this year, the country’s coal imports surged by 69.6% year on year to reach 86.55 million tons.
