China’s chrome ore imports down by 1.4% m-o-m in April

According to statistics released by China’s customs, China imported 748,368 tons of chrome ore in April, decreasing by 1.4% from a month earlier.
Among them, 323,000 tons were from South Africa, decreasing by 20.7%; 111,000 tons were from Turkey, falling by 24.5%; 77,000 tons were from Iran, up by 3.8% times; 62,000 tons were from Australia, rising by 6.4 times; 42,000 tons were from India, declining by 35.9%; 38,000 tons were from Oman, surging by 34.1%, all compared to that in a month earlier.
Meanwhile, the stocks of chrome ore at quayside have continued falling since the end of April to 2.64 million tons late last week as the ferro-chrome smelters have increased the purchases.
