Japanese domestic scrap prices dip

It’s reported that the base prices of H2 scrap in the Japanese Kanto region have fallen to ¥30,000~¥31,000/ton after Tokyo Steel announced to cut the scrap purchase prices by ¥500~¥1,000/ton on May 25th.
In the Japanese Kanto region, the electric furnace (EF) steel mills have followed Tokyo Steel to cut the scrap price.
It’s known that Itoh Iron and Steel decided to reduce scrap prices at its Tsukuba firm by ¥500/ton and Jonan cut the H2 scrap prices at its Kawaguchi works to ¥30,000/ton.
Meanwhile, the H2 scrap base prices are at ¥31,000~¥31,500/ton in Osaka region and several EF steel mills have decreased the scrap purchase prices by ¥500/ton.
