Mexican steel prices fall on global sluggish demand
|
Mexican Iron and Steel Institute Canacero said that the Mexican steel prices have decreased by 17% since this year, in comparison of the price level in 2007. Furthermore, it has fallen by 40% from 2008’s level.
Even though the demand from the US, Mexican steel export destination has increased, it still can’t help to boost the steel prices.
Canacero estimated that Mexico’s steel consumption would remain at 18.10 million tons this year, the same level of a year earlier.
