Posco commissions first steel plant in India
|
Reportedly, South Korean steel giant Posco has commissioned its first steel plant in India on this Monday.
The plant is located in west-central state of Maharashtra and it is designed to produce 450,000 tons of hot galvanized steel plates annually, mainly supplied to automobile and home appliance sectors.
At the same time, Posco is also constructing an electrical steel plate plant and a cold rolled steel mill which are capable of producing 300,000 tons and 1.8 million tons respectively in Indian state.
The two projects are expected to be completed in October, 2013 and in June, 2014 respectively.
