Formosa Plastic Group to set up the biggest integrated mill in Southeast Asia

According to report, Taiwan’s Formosa Plastic Group planned to increase the capacity of its integrated steel mill in Vietnam to 22.5 million tons, higher than the planned 15 million tons to meet the global steel demand.
The plant locates in Ha Tinh province, Vietnam and it will become the largest mill in the Southeast Asia and the construction is expected to be done in 2020,
The construction plan includes 6 blast furnaces, one port and power plants. The first two blast furnaces are expected to commission in 2015 for the first stage, producing 7 million tons of crude steel annually.
Formosa Plastic Group holds 95% of stakes and the rest is held by Taiwan’s China Steel.
