Brazil’s April iron ore exports down by 20% y-o-y

According to statistics, Brazil exported 19 million tons of iron ore in April, decreasing by 20% year on year and falling by 37% from a month earlier.
In April, the sales volumes of iron ore and iron ore pellets for domestic market totaled 2.5 million tons, declining by 8.7% year on year.
In the first four months of this year, Brazil’s iron ore exports amounted to 79 million tons, down by 10.7% year on year.
In the given period of time, Vale, the largest mining company in Brazil exported 71 million tons of iron ore, down by 11% year on year, accounting for 89.8% of the total.
