US scrap export quotes to Taiwan continue falling
|
It’s reported that the US scrap suppliers offered the HMS 80:20 (1&2) quoted at US$425/ton C&F to Taiwan last week; however, there were no deals made.
It’s said that some Taiwanese buyers have bidden US$420/ton C&F for the US scrap due to weak international scrap market.
Industry sources said that the EURO has continued depreciating against the US dollar recently, meaning the European scrap export prices would drop further. As a result, the US scrap export prices might fall as well.
Therefore, the Taiwanese buyers have been looking for lower prices.
