Australia’s mining investments surge by 34% in Oct-Apr

Australia’s mining investments amounted to US$260.8 million in the period during October, 2011 through April, 2012, surging by 34% year on year, according to report of the Australian Bureau of Resources and Energy Economics (BREE).
In the fiscal year 2010/11, the country’s new capital expenditure amounted to US$52 billion, soaring by 29% from a year earlier.
