Singapore’s scrap exports up by 3.6% y-o-y in 2011

According to statistics, Singapore exported 606,000 tons of scraps in 2011, rising by 3.6% year on year.
Among them, the country’s scrap exports to Malaysia was at 220,000 tons, soaring by 57%; that to Indonesia was at 164,000 tons, falling by 18.7%; that to India was at 71,000 tons, reducing by 19.8%, all compared to that in a year earlier.
At the same time, the country’s crude steel output in 2011 totaled 770,000 tons, rising by 5.7% in comparison of that in a year ago.
