US steel imports down by 2.3% m-o-m in April
|
According to data released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US imported 2.995 million tons of steel in April, down by 2.3% from 3.067 million tons in March while soaring by 17.5% year on year.
In the first four months of this year, the country’s steel imports amounted to 11.598 million tons, surging significantly by 29.2% in comparison of 8.976 million tons in the same period of a year earlier.
In the given period of time, the imports of semi-finished steel products totaled 2.76 tons, rising from 2.04 million tons in the same period of the previous year.
