Transaction prices of CSC’s EF Al-killed finished steel wire rebound in Taiwanese market
|
Recently, the transaction prices of China Steel Corp. (CSC)’s electric furnace (EF) Al-killed finished steel wire have rebounded slightly to NT$28,000/ton in Taiwanese market, driven by higher prices of electricity and oil and lower inventory in downstream buyers.
In fact, the transaction prices of CSC’s EF Al-killed finished steel wire had ever dropped to NT$27,800/ton previously due to downstream screw makers’ weak performance in overseas markets.
However, the transaction prices of CSC’s EF Al-killed finished steel wire have rose slightly recently after CSC announced to remain its list prices of EF Al-killed wire rod unchanged for May.
Industry sources said that the downstream screw producers’ inventory has been decreasing gradually; thus, the demand for CSC’s EF Al-killed finished steel wire has been pushed up in Taiwanese market.
Besides, it’s expected that CSC might hike its list prices of EF Al-killed wire rod for June due to higher prices of electricity and oil.
Affected by these factors, the transaction prices of CSC’s EF Al-killed wire rod have rose to NT$28,000/ton in Taiwanese market recently.
