Novelis: US’s good automobile sales to push up aluminum demand by 2%

Novelis, the world leader in aluminum rolling and beverage can recycling said last Thursday that the US’s good sales in automobile would help to push up the country’s demand for aluminum products by 2% this year.
Philip Martens, the president and chief executive officer of Novelis forecasted that the growth rate of global demand for aluminum would reach 4%~5% in the following five years.
According to statistics, the sales volumes of light cars totaled 14.4 million units in the US in April, much higher than 13.10 million units in last April.
