Brazil’s February iron ore exports decline

According to the data released by Sinferbase, the Brazilian iron ore producers’ association, the country’s mining companies exported 16.61 million tons of iron ore and pellets in February, decreasing from 21.89 million tons in the same period of a year ago.
In February, the iron ore was exported by three Brazilian companies including Vale, Samarco and MMX Mineracao e Metalicos SA.
Meanwhile, the three mining companies sales 2.36 million tons of iron ore to the domestic market, decreasing from 2.42 million tons in the same period of the previous year.
Vale and MMX recently stated that the heavier than usual rains in Minas Gerais state in January have affected their iron ore output and the transaction severely.
