|
It’s reported that the steel mills in southern Taiwan have remained the rebar prices firm at NT$20,300/ton currently, considering to the price rise in electricity charges, in spite of sluggish demand.
It’s known that Feng Hsin, one of the major rebar producers in Taiwan postponed releasing rebar list prices for this week since it was difficult to calculate the steelmaking costs due to rise in electricity charges.
Thus, its rebar list prices are at NT$20,300/ton this week.
Meanwhile, it’s estimated that if the electricity charges increased by 30%, the steelmaking costs would rise by NT$400/ton.
