Australian alumina prices likely to slide 12%
|
According to the Australian Resources and Energy Economic Services Bureau, the average price of alumina this year is about US$339/ton, down by 12% year on year, due to slowdown of production.
The Bureau said in a report that until June 30th, 2013, the Australian alumina production is expected to increase by 12% to 22.9 million tons, mainly because the Ya-Wen (the Yarwun) oxidation aluminum refinery of the Rio Tinto Group has completed and it will increase its annual production by 3 million tons.
