Global crude steel output up by 1.9% y-o-y in February

According to statistics released by World Steel, the global crude steel output totaled 119.2 million tons in February, up by 1.9% in comparison of that in the same period of a year earlier.
In February, the 27-countries in the EU produced 140.7 million tons of crude steel down by 3.8%; the CIS had 8.78 million tons, decreasing by 1.4%; North America produced 9.95 million tons, surging by 9.1%; South America produced 3.83 million tons, up by 1.8% and Asia produced 7.742 million tons, rising by 2.3%, all compared to that in last February.
In the given period of time, the capacity utilization rate of the global steel plants was at 79.9%, up by 0.5% from that in last December.
Furthermore, it’s forecasted that the daily average crude steel output would continue to rise in March.
