US crude steel output up slightly
|
According to statistics released by the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the US’s crude steel output totaled 1.947 million short tons in the week ends on March 3rd, 2012, up by 0.9% from 1.93million short tons in a week earlier and increasing by 8% in comparison of 1.803 million short tons in the same period of a year ago.
In the given period of time, the capacity utilization rate of steel mills in the country was at 78.8%, higher than 75.2% in a week ago.
