Sea freights for route from Asia to Europe and US to rise
|
Reported the world's major shipping companies planned to lift sea freights on the routes from Asia to Europe and Asia to the US since March 1st and March 15 respectively.
The carriers said that the average utilization rate of shipping space was at around 90% after the implementation of new tariff on the routes from Asia and Europe.
Currently, the sea freights for the route from Far-East market to the European ports are about US$1,400/ TEU.
However, the shipping companies said that they still can’t make sure to gain profits after the price hike in March. Thus, they are planning to raise the sea freight further by US$400/TEU in April.
