Scrap prices keep rising in Japanese domestic market
|
Recently, the scrap prices have continued rising in Japanese domestic market.
It’s’ known that most Japanese steel mills have hiked the scrap prices currently, driven the prices rise of ¥500/ton made by Tokyo Steel at its two firms.
In Kanto region, the scrap base prices have soared to ¥30,000~¥30,500/ton, up by ¥500/ton.
Meanwhile, the scrap base prices in Tokyo Bay region have increased to ¥30,000/ton.
In Osaka, the scrap base prices were at ¥30,500~¥31,000/ton on February 15th. Also, Osaka Steel announced to hike scrap purchase prices by ¥1,000/ton form February 14th.
Industry insiders predicted that the scrap prices would continue to rise in Japanese domestic market in the short term.
