Latin American crude steel output increases by 12% in 2011

According to report released by the Latin American Steel Association (Alacero), the Latin American crude steel output totaled 68.8 million tons in 2011, increasing by 12% year on year.
In 2011, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico were the three major producers in Latin America which had growth of 12%, 7% and 13% respectively.
In last December, the Latin American crude steel production totaled around 6 million tons, rose by 4% from a month earlier and soaring by 22% year on year.
Meanwhile, the Latin American finished steel production increased by 8% to 56.6 million tons in 2011.
