South African three ferrochrome plants cut Q3 output on slack demand for stainless steel

Because of the decreasing demand for stainless steel, the leading ferrochrome plants in South Africa decided to cut the output in the third quarter of this year.
Merafe Resources produced the ferrochrome of 48,000 tons in the third quarter of this year, down by 18% year on year.
IFM produced the ferrochrome of 32,000 tons in the third quarter of this year, down by 41.2% in comparison of that in the same period of last year.
In addition, Xstrata produced the ferrochrome of 186,000 tons in the third quarter of this year, down by 18% year on year.
