Algeria plans to establish steel plant
|
It’s reported that Algeria planned to establish a steel plant with annual production capacity of 5 million tons in Jijel. However, the detailed information about the investment has been revealed.
It’s known that Algeria’s steel import value reached US$10 billion in 2010. The new steel plant will help to reduce the country’s reliance on imports. Meanwhile, Cevital spa, a major Algerian private enterprise previously expressed its intention to invest US$3.2 billion to build a steel mill in Jijel.
