Port of Houston’s steel shipments increase by 57%
|
According to monthly financial report released by Alec G. Dreyer, Texas CEO of Port of Houston, steel imports totaled 443 thousand tons in July, increased by 57% compared with the same period last year and the number for the first seven months has increased by nearly 80%.
In addition, container TEUs are up by 4% Year-to-date and container volumes in August still have the tendency to rise again.
Also, the Container revenue has increase sharply in July and enjoyed an increase rate of 31% for the first seven months.
Many steel traders see a positive outlook for the further increase of steel import.
