Shutdown of nuclear power station expected to impact Japanese steel industry

Facing the crisis of nuclear power station in Fukushima, Japan, the government has planned to close the nuclear power station in Tokyo. The Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) is quite concerned about the impact on the shutdown of nuclear power station that could make JISF spend around US$1.7 billion every year.
Until now, the severest impacted producer is the electric furnace mill. JISF expected the mill probably has to spend around 257 billion yen on the cost of electricity every year.
