Yusco cuts 300 series prices, but up 430 prices
|
Due to the weak nickel price and demand for stainless steel, Taiwan's Yieh United Steel Co. (Yusco) announced that it was cutting its domestic prices for its 300 series.
Consequently the domestic prices of 300 series will drop by NT$2,000/ton, but the price of 430 will rise by NT$2,000/ton.
Yusco announced that the increased price is necessary to recoup higher priced raw materials, petroleum and electricity, bringing strong cost pressure to the mills. But in order to maintain a stable market, Yusco will absorb the added costs in a bid to maintain its competiveness.
Export prices of 300 series will be slashed by US$50~80/ton, but price of 430 products will be raised by US$60~100/ton.
