Japanese stainless steel output up by 3.7% in October
Japanese stainless steel output totaled 268,000 tons in October 2007, up by 3.7 percent from that of last month.

Due to the change in the building laws, the demand of stainless steel decreased in the market. Therefore, stainless steel mills continue to adjust their output in low levels.

Compared to the previous month, nickel-based stainless products has increased by 4.6 percent in October. But the figure has not reached 300,000 tons level.

Until October 31, Japanese steel mills have 168,010 tons stocks of stainless steel, and 3,373 tons in stocks for special steel.
