American imports of stainless steel plate up

America imported a large quantity of stainless steel medium heavy plate in the first 8 months.
The import from China has also raised sharply.US governments believes that manufacturers have dumped stainless steel plate to American market.
Therefore US government will investigate the possible dumping of stainless medium heavy plate from South Africa, Italy and Belgium.
During the first 8 months of 2007, US imported around 111,900 tons of plate, increasing by 66 percent compared to the same period of last year.
