Germany’s stainless steel production to down by 20% this year
|
Germany’s stainless steel production this year is expected to drop by 20 percent in the same comparison to around 1.4 million tons, according to estimate by the ERG-Edelstahl Recycling GmbH.
Output of 300 series stainless steel is estimated to be only 940,000 tons, accounting for around 67 percent of overall volumes. The country produced around 1.5 million tons of 300 series stainless steel in 2006.
Besides, Germany has lowered its 2008 growth forecast to 2.0 percent from 2.4 percent.
