Essar Steel to raise steel service center capacity

Essar Steel has increased the capacity of its India steel service center at Hazira in Gujarat from 1.2 million tons to 2 million tons with growing demand expectation for finished steel products.
In the mean time, to show their presence in Automobile and appliance sectors, they are speeding setting up three Service Centers at the Auto clusters in Chennai, Pune and the NCR Region which each will add 250,000 tons tpy, set up to complete this year.
The service centers operation will include coil slitting, cutting for cold rolled, hot rolled and galvanized steel. This move is viewed as Essar's policy of " Go retail" which they desire more contact with end users.
