Japanese scrap prices up again
|
South Korea Hyundai Steel reportedly purchased Japanese’s H2 scrap at ¥37,500/ton, increasing by ¥500/ton. The price is about US$348 to 350/ton C&F Taiwan.
Tokyo Steel said it will increase scrap purchasing prices by ¥500 to 1,000/ton, consequently the new price of H2 scrap is at ¥37,500 to 40,000/ton.
Chinese and South Korean mills have purchased a lot of scrap from Japan, therefore, Japanese suppliers are no in a hurry for quoting.
