North American stainless prices to remain high this year
|
North American stainless steel prices are expected to continue on its rising trend due to the unusually high nickel price during October. December and January alloy surcharges are also expected to rise. In the longer term, the stainless selling values are expected to decline. The current price of nickel on the LME is over US$34,000/ton but it is expected that the price will decrease by mid next year. However in December this year, the stainless steel price is expected to rise as a result of the high nickel price. (Nov. 9)
