Tokyo Steel to raise scrap purchase price
|
Tokyo Steel is about to raise the purchase price of H2 scrap. The Japanese company will increase the price by ¥500 to 1, 000/ton. The latest price for H2 scrap is between ¥25, 000 to 27, 500/ton. According to Taiwanese mills, the scrap price offered from Japan generally exceeded US$260/ton CFR. Traders have been trying to bid for the price at US$257 to US$258/ton CFR but Japanese sellers insist that US$260/ton is the lowest that they will go. The price of HS scrap is around US$273 to US$276/ton CFR. (Apr. 18)
