Japanese plate mills cut price to Hyundai Heavy Industries

After tough negotiations South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries and three has Japanese plate suppliers have agreed to a cut in prices for the shipbuilder. According to the agreement the price of the steel plate from the Japan’s Nippon Steel Corp, JFE Holdings and Sumitomo Metal will be lowered by US$100/ton compared to the price in the previous quarter. This 15 percent price cut will be valid until the end of September. (Apr. 5)
